What is Two Hills Lab?

Description of the image below, for accessibility: The image displays a list of the books of the Bible, arranged according to the average number of words in each book. This unique arrangement revealed new insights about the Bible for the first time.

Two Hills Lab is a digital humanities research lab located in Two Hills (in Hebrew translation). We are a small, dynamic, and independent lab.

Two Hills Lab is also the name of a free, web-based platform—recently featured on Ynet—dedicated to large-scale quantitative analysis of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), related corpora, and texts from all fields of knowledge.

The platform was created at the intersection of computational linguistics, Big Data, and Jewish history. Our goal is to empower researchers, students, and curious readers, enabling them to explore ancient and modern texts with new empirical clarity.

What We Offer

Although our roots are planted in biblical research and Jewish history, our tools are designed for the broader digital humanities community.

Built for Researchers, Freely Open to All

The goal of Two Hills Lab is not to replace traditional philology, but to enrich it. By providing global quantitative parameters, our platform helps researchers illuminate textual structures, surface unexpected thematic connections, and make innovative comparisons between chapters and verses.

Get Involved and Stay Updated

Ready to start groundbreaking research? You can paste any text into our software, split it by line breaks or punctuation marks, and immediately begin your stylistic analysis.
